Brien Construction, based in Perth, WA is a fully integrated, in‑house construction practice delivering end‑to‑end solutions across the Residential, Commercial, and Fit‑out sectors of the construction industry. Our one‑stop‑shop model enables seamless project delivery, consistent quality, and strong cost and program control from concept through to completion.

Gerry Brien brings over 30 years of industry experience, with a background as a Qualified Architectural Draftsman, Project Administrator, and Project Manager. Gerry as a Registered Builder has successfully run a our building company for over 16 years and for 7 years held senior roles within two national fit-out firms. Gerry has worked with some of the most successful and iconic architects in Perth and designed and constructed a number of luxury residences across the western and coastal suburbs of Perth. Gerry’s diverse building experience also includes bespoke commercial builds and fit-outs. Gerry’s breadth of technical knowledge and hands‑on leadership underpins the company’s strong reputation for quality, compliance, and buildability.

Julie is a Degree‑Qualified Urban and Regional Town Planner with more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry in Perth, regional Western Australia and overseas. Julie has successfully performed as a Project Planner in Senior Government roles, Project Administrator and Project Manager across a broad range of projects including land assembly, property development and construction projects. Her structured approach, planning expertise, and attention to detail ensure projects are well‑coordinated, efficiently managed, and delivered to a high professional standard.

"I worked with Gerry and Julie of Brien Construction on a project which involved building an extension on an existing Dental Practice, doubling the size of the Practice, and then renovating the old building. In the beginning they guided us through the design stages and also obtained the planning and building approvals within statutory deadlines.


During the project it was imperative that there was as little downtime with the running of the Practice as possible. Therefore a staged approach was adopted allowing the new extension to be built and fitted out while the business continued in the original building.

 

Once the extension was completed the business moved into the new part and the original building was renovated. This resulted in virtually no lost working time and minimal disruption to the business for a project of this magnitude.


The Trades people that Gerry used were efficient and produced quality work. I believe that he only used Trades with whom he had worked with previously and trusted.

 

Any unforeseen issues that arose during the project, mainly involving the partial demolition and renovation of the old building, were dealt with in a timely, no-nonsense fashion and any associated costs involved were clearly explained and kept within sensible limits.
